Due to the armed conflict in the NW and SW Regions, there has been massive displacement in rural farming communities in the said regions. This has been partly responsible for the shortage of food products which usually produced by farmers in Agro-Sylvo Pastoral activities residing within the regions in question, as the farms are allowed to fallow.
The food shortage has also caused prize increase in farm products which is a major challenge in our localities. There is therefore need to empower the few farmers who are still in crop production activities, with knowledge on ways and means to increase production and help
them to identify farmers support outlet. This event held from Thursday 23rd to Saturday 25th of November at U-Complex in Limbe.
The event involved 100 MEVCUDA registered farmers who were assembled to showcase their products and express their challenges. A needs assessment visit had earlier been conducted in tier various farming locations to identify the challenges and needs of the adherents. This is the yardstick that MEVCDUA team used to obtain farming inputs from donor organizations and institutions which was donated to the exhibitors during the exhibition exercise.
